UL-507 Section 179 Testing procedure. Fan motors in unattended areas. REV 200826
Motor Thermocouple information (in order of connection at measuring equipment):
- Top Main Lead End
- Top Main Opposite Lead End
- Top Aux Lead End
- Top Aux Opposite Lead End
- Frame
- Ambient
Motor fixture details:
- Motor oriented with thermal protector oriented on the bottom.
- Clamped to testing surface using Unistrut. Move capacitor if applicable.
- Rotor locked.
- Cover in single layer of surgical cotton over motor clamp.
Measurement details:
- Current clamp installed on hot leg, using a pig tail from fusable enclosure.
- Voltage meter leads installed securely.
- Fused on hot leg.
